Drop your photo above and it is cleaned on your own device. Nothing is uploaded.
Almost every photo from a phone or camera carries EXIF data: the make and model of the camera, the date and time it was taken, often the exact GPS spot where you stood, a small embedded thumbnail and sometimes a serial number. Many photos also carry XMP, IPTC, comments, Photoshop data and edit history. All of it is removed.
If your photo has a location, you will see it on a small map before cleaning, so you know what you were about to share.
The picture itself is not touched. Photos are not re-compressed, so the pixels are identical and the quality is unchanged. A rotated photo keeps only its rotation flag, so it still displays the right way up; the flag reveals nothing about you. Colour profiles that name your device, such as a Mac screenshot naming the display it was taken on, have the name and device details blanked, and the colours stay the same.
You can also tick "Remove dates from file names", which turns "Screenshot 2026-11-07 at 23.54.36.png" into "screenshot.png".
Works with JPEG, PNG, WebP, HEIC, AVIF and other formats. Each cleaned file is checked again for anything left behind.

What this can't do
- It doesn't change what's visible. Faces, street signs, reflections, house numbers and text in a photo or document stay as they are.
- It can't remove invisible watermarks. Some services hide tracking codes in the image or text itself.
- Comments and tracked changes stay in documents. Their author names and dates are removed, but their text is kept. Accept or delete them in your editor first.
- Partly cleaned: camera RAW files keep the maker data raw converters need (it can include the camera's serial number); newer Pages, Numbers and Keynote files keep some details in a format this tool can't edit. Convert to DNG, or export to PDF or Office, for a full clean.
- Not supported: Word 95 or older (save it as .docx), InDesign .indd (export to IDML or PDF), AutoCAD .dwg (save as DXF), RAR and 7z archives, including .cbr/.cb7 comics, .bz2/.xz/.zst compression (repack as .zip, .cbz or .tar.gz), and e-books with DRM.
- GPS in photos is removed completely. The exception is route files (GPX, KML, KMZ) from running, cycling or hiking apps. The route is the file's content, so it stays, including where it starts and ends. Times, devices and author details are removed.
- Content stays: fonts keep their names and licence notices, torrents keep their trackers and files, comic books keep their title and credits, e-books keep their title, language and cover, Markdown keeps front matter other than names (title, date, tags) and its comments, and Procreate files keep the time-lapse recording (purge it in Procreate first).
- Saved differently: Blender files compressed with Zstandard come back uncompressed (larger, but Blender opens them as usual).
- Emails keep their sender, recipients, subject and date: those are the message itself. Routing details, the email app and attachment metadata are removed.
